Missy Robbins is a renowned American chef, best known for her expertise in Italian cuisine. She is the owner of two popular restaurants in Brooklyn, New York: Lilia and Misi. Robbins has received numerous accolades for her culinary skills, including a Michelin star and the James Beard Award for Best Chef in New York City.

Robbins was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She developed a passion for cooking at a young age, inspired by her mother's homemade meals. After high school, she attended Georgetown University, where she earned a degree in art history. However, her love for cooking led her to pursue a culinary career. She enrolled at the Peter Kump's New York Cooking School (now known as the Institute of Culinary Education), where she honed her culinary skills.

After graduating from culinary school, Robbins worked at various renowned restaurants in the United States and Italy. She spent time at the famous Spiaggia in Chicago, where she learned the art of Italian cooking under the guidance of Chef Tony Mantuano.

In 2008, Robbins moved to New York City to become the executive chef at A Voce, where she maintained the restaurant's Michelin star rating for several years.

In 2016, Robbins opened her first restaurant, Lilia, in Brooklyn. The restaurant quickly gained popularity for its authentic Italian cuisine. Two years later, she opened her second restaurant, Misi, which also focuses on Italian cuisine but with a particular emphasis on pasta dishes.

Throughout her career, Robbins has received numerous awards and recognition for her culinary skills. In 2010, she was named one of Food & Wine's "Best New Chefs." In 2018, she received the James Beard Award for Best Chef in New York City. Her restaurant, Lilia, has also been awarded a Michelin star.

Robbins is openly gay and has been a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. She currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
