Addison Mitchell McConnell Jr. (born February 20, 1942) is an American politician serving as the Senate Majority Leader since January 3, 2015. A member of the Republican Party, McConnell has been the U.S. Senator from Kentucky since January 3, 1985.

Mitch McConnell was born on February 20, 1942, in Sheffield, Alabama. He attended the University of Louisville and later the University of Kentucky College of Law.
