Momofuku is a group of restaurants founded by David Chang. The first restaurant, Momofuku Noodle Bar, opened in 2004 in the East Village neighborhood of New York City. The name "Momofuku" is an homage to Momofuku Ando, the inventor of instant noodles, and it also means "lucky peach" in Japanese.

David Chang opened the first Momofuku restaurant, Momofuku Noodle Bar, in 2004. The restaurant quickly gained popularity for its innovative take on ramen and other Asian dishes. Following the success of the Noodle Bar, Chang expanded the Momofuku brand to include several other restaurants.
