Monroeville is a borough with home rule status in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. Located about 10 miles east of Pittsburgh, Monroeville is a bustling suburb with a mix of residential and commercial developments.

Monroeville was settled in the mid-18th century and was originally known as "Patton Township." It was incorporated as a borough in 1951. The area was named after Joel Monroe, the area's first postmaster.

Demographics[edit | edit source]
As of the 2020 census, Monroeville had a population of 28,640. The borough is known for its diverse community and has a variety of housing options ranging from single-family homes to apartment complexes.
Economy[edit | edit source]
Monroeville is a major commercial center in the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh. It is home to the Monroeville Mall, one of the largest shopping centers in the region. The borough also hosts several corporate offices and business parks.
Education[edit | edit source]
Monroeville is served by the Gateway School District, which includes several elementary schools, a middle school, and Gateway High School. The borough is also home to the Community College of Allegheny County's Boyce Campus.
Transportation[edit | edit source]
Monroeville is accessible via the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Interstate 76) and the Parkway East (Interstate 376). Public transportation is provided by the Port Authority of Allegheny County.
