Morton A. Klein (born November 5, 1947) is an American economist and activist, best known for his role as the president of the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA). He has been a prominent figure in the American Jewish community and a vocal advocate for Israel.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Morton Klein was born in New York City, New York. He earned his undergraduate degree in economics from Temple University and later obtained a master's degree in statistics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Career[edit | edit source]
Klein began his career as an economist working for the Nixon administration and later for the Carter administration. He also worked as a senior economist in the United States Department of Commerce.
Zionist Organization of America[edit | edit source]
In 1993, Klein was elected as the president of the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), one of the oldest pro-Israel organizations in the United States. Under his leadership, the ZOA has been active in promoting Zionism and advocating for Israel's security and interests. Klein has been a vocal critic of the Oslo Accords and has frequently spoken out against anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism.
