Mount Kisco is a village located in Westchester County, New York, United States. It is situated within the town of Bedford and serves as a commercial hub for the surrounding area. The village has a population of approximately 10,877 people as of the 2010 census.

Mount Kisco was settled in 1721 and was originally known as "New Castle Corner." It was primarily an agricultural community until the arrival of the railroad in the mid-19th century, which spurred its growth as a commercial center. The village was officially incorporated in 1875.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Mount Kisco is located at an elevation of 449 feet (137 meters) above sea level. It covers a total area of 4.2 square miles (10.8 square kilometers), all of which is land.

As of the 2010 census, Mount Kisco had a population of 10,877 people. The village has a population density of 2,610.2 people per square mile (1,007.7/km2). The racial makeup of the village is predominantly White, with significant Hispanic and African American populations.

Mount Kisco operates under a Mayor-Council form of government. The village is governed by the Village Board of Trustees, led by the Mayor. The current Mayor of Mount Kisco is Gina Picinich.

Mount Kisco serves as a major commercial center for the surrounding area. The village is home to a variety of businesses, including retail stores, restaurants, and professional services. The downtown area, known as "The Village," features a mix of local and national retailers.
