Mrs. Fields is a popular American brand specializing in freshly baked, on-premises specialty cookies and brownies. The company was founded by Debbi Fields in 1977 in Palo Alto, California, and has since grown into a worldwide franchise operation.

Debbi Fields, a young mother with no business experience, opened her first cookie store in Palo Alto, California in 1977. They named it Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chippery. Fields stated that she had no business experience and learned everything about business on her own. She wrote a business plan for the company and followed it religiously. The business was successful from the start and grew rapidly. By the early 1990s, the Mrs. Fields cookie chain had over 700 stores worldwide with sales exceeding $450 million.

Mrs. Fields offers a variety of gourmet cookies, cookie cakes, brownies and decorating kits. They are known for their signature soft-baked cookies, which are made throughout the day in every store. Mrs. Fields cookies uses ingredients like real butter, whole eggs, and special blends of sugar. Their most popular product is the chocolate chip cookie, although the company also features other favorites like oatmeal raisin and white chocolate macadamia nut.

In 1990, Mrs. Fields started franchising its brand, and today there are Mrs. Fields stores in the United States and in over 30 countries worldwide. The company also sells products through its website and through a catalog. In addition to cookies and brownies, the company's product line includes other baked goods, ice cream, coffee, and branded merchandise.
