Musaca

Musaca is typically made with layers of thinly sliced eggplant or potatoes, cooked ground meat (usually beef or lamb), and a tomato sauce. The meat is often seasoned with onions, garlic, and various spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Some variations of the dish also include layers of other vegetables, such as zucchini or bell peppers.

The dish is assembled by layering the ingredients in a baking dish, starting with a layer of vegetables, followed by a layer of meat and tomato sauce, and then another layer of vegetables. This process is repeated until all the ingredients are used up. The final layer is usually a white sauce or bechamel sauce, which gives the dish a creamy texture and a golden brown crust when baked.

After assembly, the Musaca is baked in the oven until the top layer is golden brown and the vegetables are tender. It is then allowed to cool slightly before being served.
