- Muscogee County is a county located in the west central portion of the U.S. state of Georgia. The county seat is Columbus, which is also the second-largest city in Georgia. The county was established on December 14, 1826, and it is named for the native Muscogee or Creek people.
Geography[edit | edit source]
- Muscogee County is bordered by Harris County to the north, Talbot County to the northeast, Chattahoochee County to the east, Russell County, Alabama to the west, and Lee and Macon counties, Alabama, to the south. The county has a total area of 221 square miles, of which 216 square miles is land and 4.8 square miles is water.

- As of the 2010 United States Census, there were 189,885 people, 74,081 households, and 49,558 families residing in the county. The population density was 877.5 inhabitants per square mile.
