From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Mythos (beer) is a popular beer brand in Greece, known for its distinctive taste and golden color. It is a product of the Mythos Brewery, a subsidiary of Carlsberg Group, one of the leading brewery groups in the world.

History[edit | edit source]

Mythos Brewery was established in 1997, in the city of Thessaloniki, Greece. The brewery was initially part of the Boutari Group, a well-known Greek wine producer. In 2001, the Carlsberg Group acquired the majority of the shares of the brewery, making it a part of their global network.

The Mythos beer was launched in the same year as the brewery's establishment and quickly gained popularity both in Greece and abroad. It is now one of the most recognized Greek beer brands internationally.

Production[edit | edit source]

Mythos beer is a lager type beer, characterized by its rich foam, bright blonde color, and a pleasant, refreshing taste. The beer is brewed using a combination of selected malts, hops and specially cultured yeast. The brewing process follows the traditional lager brewing method, which includes a fermentation period followed by a maturation period at low temperatures.

Distribution[edit | edit source]

Mythos beer is widely available in Greece and is also exported to a number of countries around the world. It is particularly popular in countries with a large Greek diaspora, such as Australia, Canada, and the United States.

Awards[edit | edit source]

Over the years, Mythos beer has received several awards for its quality and taste. These include gold medals at the Monde Selection International Quality Institute and the European Beer Star competition.
