Nøgne Ø is a Norwegian brewery located in Grimstad, Norway. It was founded in 2002 by Kjetil Jikiun and Gunnar Wiig. The name "Nøgne Ø" translates to "Naked Island" in English, which is a term used by the famous Norwegian poet Henrik Ibsen to describe the barren islands of Norway's southern coast.

The founders, Kjetil Jikiun, a former airline pilot, and Gunnar Wiig, a homebrewer, were inspired by the craft beer movement in the United States.
