Nabeel Asif Qureshi (April 13, 1983September 16, 2017) was a Pakistani-American Christian apologist, author, and public speaker. He was a convert from Islam to Christianity and was known for his work with Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM).

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Nabeel Qureshi was born in San Diego, California, to Pakistani immigrants. He grew up in a devout Ahmadiyya Muslim family. Qureshi pursued higher education in the field of medicine, earning a MD from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He also held a Master of Christian Apologetics from Biola University and a Master of Religion from Duke University.

Conversion to Christianity[edit | edit source]

Qureshi's journey to Christianity began during his undergraduate studies at Old Dominion University, where he engaged in religious debates with a Christian friend. His extensive study of the Bible and the Quran led him to convert to Christianity in 2005. This conversion was a significant turning point in his life and career.

Career[edit | edit source]

After his conversion, Qureshi joined Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) as a speaker and apologist. He traveled extensively, giving lectures and participating in debates on the topics of Christianity and Islam. Qureshi was also a prolific writer, authoring several books that detailed his spiritual journey and provided apologetic arguments for Christianity.

Qureshi's most well-known book is Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus, which chronicles his conversion from Islam to Christianity. The book received critical acclaim and was a New York Times Best Seller. Other notable works include Answering Jihad and No God but One: Allah or Jesus?.

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

Qureshi was married to Michelle Qureshi, and they had one daughter. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2016 and passed away on September 16, 2017, in Houston, Texas.
