After the death of her husband and sons, she returned to Bethlehem with Ruth. There, Ruth married Boaz, who was a relative of Naomi's late husband. She urged her daughters-in-law, Ruth and Orpah, to return to their own mothers and remarry. However, Ruth chose to stay with Naomi, famously saying, "Where you go, I will go; where you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God my God."
