Nastassja Kinski (born 24 January 1961) is a German actress and former model. She has appeared in more than 60 films in Europe and the United States. Her notable films include Tess (1979), Cat People (1982), Paris, Texas (1984), and Faraway, So Close! (1993).
Early life[edit | edit source]
Nastassja Aglaia Nakszynski was born in West Berlin, West Germany, to Klaus Kinski, a German actor, and his wife, Ruth Brigitte Tocki. She has two half-siblings, Polina Kinski and Nikolai Kinski, who are also actors.
Career[edit | edit source]
Kinski's career began in the mid-1970s. She gained international recognition for her role in the film Tess, directed by Roman Polanski, for which she won a Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year – Actress.
In 1982, she starred in the erotic horror film Cat People, which was a remake of the 1942 film of the same name. Her performance in Paris, Texas, directed by Wim Wenders, was critically acclaimed and the film won the Palme d'Or at the 1984 Cannes Film Festival.
Kinski continued to work in both European and American films throughout the 1980s and 1990s. She appeared in Faraway, So Close! (1993), directed by Wim Wenders, and One Night Stand (1997), directed by Mike Figgis.

Kinski has three children: Aljosha Nakszynski, Sonja Kinski, and Kenya Julia Miambi Sarah Jones. She was in a relationship with Quincy Jones, an American record producer, and Ibrahim Moussa, an Egyptian filmmaker.
