From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is a non-profit organization in the United States dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders. History[edit | edit source]

The National Eating Disorders Association was established in 2001 through the merger of two existing organizations: Eating Disorders Awareness & Prevention (EDAP) and the American Anorexia Bulimia Association (AABA). This merger aimed to create a unified national advocacy group for individuals suffering from eating disorders. Since its inception, NEDA has grown to become the largest nonprofit organization in the United States dedicated to addressing the full spectrum of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and OSFED (Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder).
