The National Post is a Canadian English-language newspaper published in Toronto, Ontario. It was founded in 1998 by Conrad Black and is currently owned by Postmedia Network. The newspaper is known for its conservative editorial stance and is published in a broadsheet format.

The National Post was established on October 27, 1998, by media mogul Conrad Black as part of his Hollinger Inc. empire. The newspaper was created to provide a national voice for conservative viewpoints and to compete with other major Canadian newspapers such as The Globe and Mail and the Toronto Star.
In 2000, Hollinger Inc. sold the National Post to CanWest Global Communications, which was owned by the Asper family. Under CanWest, the National Post continued to expand its reach and influence in Canadian media.
In 2010, the newspaper was acquired by Postmedia Network, a company formed by a group of investors who purchased the assets of CanWest's newspaper division. Postmedia Network continues to own and operate the National Post today.
