Niccolò da Uzzano
Niccolò da Uzzano (1359 – 1431) was an influential Florentine statesman and a prominent figure in the political life of the Republic of Florence during the late 14th and early 15th centuries. He is best known for his opposition to the rise of the Medici family and his role in the governance of Florence.

Niccolò da Uzzano was born in 1359 into a noble family in Florence. His family had a long history of involvement in the political and social affairs of the city. Uzzano received a comprehensive education, which prepared him for a career in public service.
