- Nottoway County is a county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 15,853. Its county seat is Nottoway. The county was created in 1789 and named in honor of a tribe of Native Americans who lived in the area.
Geography[edit | edit source]
- Nottoway County is located in the south-central part of Virginia. It is bordered by Amelia County to the north, Lunenburg County to the south, Prince Edward County to the west, and Dinwiddie County to the east. The county's total area is 316 square miles, of which 315 square miles is land and 1.2 square miles is water.

- Nottoway Health Department is a part of the Virginia Department of Health. It provides a variety of public health services to the residents of Nottoway County, including immunizations, family planning, environmental health services, and disease prevention and control. - As of the 2010 census, there were 15,853 people, 6,161 households, and 4,229 families residing in the county. The racial makeup of the county was 64.4% White, 32.4% Black or African American, 0.8% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.8% from other races, and 1.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.7% of the population.

- Education in Nottoway County is provided by the Nottoway County Public Schools system, which operates three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. The county is also home to Nottoway County Technical Center, which offers vocational and technical education programs.
