OSCAR McMaster
OSCAR McMaster is an open-source electronic medical record (EMR) system that was initially developed at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. OSCAR stands for Open Source Clinical Application and Resource. The system is widely used in Canada and other countries and is written in Java.

OSCAR was first developed in the early 2000s at McMaster University. The initial development was funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The goal was to create an open-source EMR system that could be used by healthcare providers in Ontario and beyond.
Features[edit | edit source]
OSCAR includes a wide range of features that are typical of EMR systems. These include patient scheduling, billing, prescription management, and lab integration. OSCAR also includes a number of unique features, such as a built-in fax server and a patient portal.
Adoption[edit | edit source]
OSCAR is widely used in Canada, particularly in Ontario. It is also used in other countries, including the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. OSCAR is supported by a large and active community of users and developers.
