Oaks, Pennsylvania
Oaks, Pennsylvania is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The community owes its name to a large stand of oak trees that once stood in the area.

Oaks was originally a small mill town on the Schuylkill River. The community grew with the construction of the Perkiomen Railroad in the mid-19th century. Today, Oaks is known for its mix of residential, commercial, and recreational areas.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Oaks is located at the confluence of the Perkiomen Creek and the Schuylkill River. It is part of the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area, and is approximately 20 miles northwest of downtown Philadelphia.
Economy[edit | edit source]
The economy of Oaks is diverse, with a mix of local businesses and national chains. The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, one of the largest exhibition centers in the region, is located in Oaks and hosts a variety of events throughout the year.
Education[edit | edit source]
Oaks is served by the Perkiomen Valley School District. The district operates several schools in the area, including Oaks Elementary School and Perkiomen Valley Middle School East.
Recreation[edit | edit source]
The Lower Perkiomen Valley Park is a popular recreational area in Oaks. The park features walking and biking trails, picnic areas, and access to the Perkiomen Creek for fishing and boating.
Transportation[edit | edit source]
Oaks is served by several major highways, including U.S. Route 422 and Pennsylvania Route 29. The community is also served by the SEPTA regional rail system, with the Oaks station providing access to Philadelphia and other parts of the region.
