- Obion County is located in the northwestern corner of the U.S. state of Tennessee. It is part of the Union City, TN–KY Micropolitan Statistical Area. The county was formed in 1823 and named after the Obion River. The county seat is Union City.

- Obion County covers an area of 556 square miles, of which 545 square miles is land and 11 square miles is water. The county is bordered by Fulton County, Kentucky to the north, Weakley County to the east, Gibson County to the southeast, Dyer County to the southwest, and Lake County to the west.
