The Okocim Brewery was founded by Johann Evangelist Goetz, a German businessman who moved to Poland in the mid-19th century. The brewery was established in the town of Okocim, now known as Brzesko. The brewery quickly gained popularity and by the end of the 19th century, it was one of the largest breweries in the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
