The Oregon State Hospital Historic District is a historic district located in Salem, Oregon, United States. The district encompasses the main campus of the Oregon State Hospital, a psychiatric hospital that has been in operation since 1883. The historic district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

History

The Oregon State Hospital was originally established as the Oregon State Insane Asylum in 1883. The original building, known as the J Building, was designed in the Kirkbride Plan style, which was a popular architectural style for mental asylums in the 19th century.
