Ornge

Ornge is a non-profit, government-funded organization that provides air ambulance and associated ground transportation service, catering to the province of Ontario in Canada. The organization was established in 2005 and is based in Mississauga, Ontario.

Ornge was created in 2005 as the Ontario Air Ambulance Services Co. by the Government of Ontario to provide air ambulance services in the province. The organization was later renamed Ornge in 2006.

Services[edit | edit source]

Ornge provides both air and ground ambulance services. The air ambulance service is provided through a fleet of AgustaWestland AW139 helicopters and Pilatus PC-12 fixed-wing aircraft. The ground ambulance service is provided through a fleet of specialized vehicles equipped with medical equipment.

Controversies[edit | edit source]

Ornge has been involved in several controversies, including allegations of financial mismanagement and questions about the safety of its operations. In 2012, the Ontario Provincial Police launched an investigation into the organization's financial practices.
