Oxnard is a city in Ventura County, California, United States. Located along the coast of Southern California, it is the most populous city in the county and the 22nd most populous city in California. Oxnard is known for its agricultural industry, particularly for strawberries and lima beans.

Oxnard was incorporated on June 30, 1903, and has grown significantly since its founding. The city was named after the Oxnard Brothers, who established a sugar beet factory in the area in the late 19th century. The factory attracted a diverse workforce, contributing to the city's multicultural heritage.

Oxnard is situated on the Oxnard Plain, a fertile region known for its agricultural productivity.
