Pa-kimchi
Introduction[edit | edit source]
Pa-kimchi is a type of kimchi that is made from green onions, also known as scallions. It is a traditional Korean side dish that is enjoyed for its spicy and tangy flavor. The name "Pa-kimchi" comes from the Korean word "pa" which means green onion, and "kimchi" which is a general term for pickled vegetables.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
The main ingredient in Pa-kimchi is green onions. Other ingredients include garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, fish sauce, and salt. Some variations may also include sugar, shrimp paste, or sesame seeds.
Preparation[edit | edit source]
To prepare Pa-kimchi, the green onions are first washed and cut into pieces. The other ingredients are then mixed together to create a kimchi paste. This paste is spread over the green onions, ensuring that they are fully coated. The coated green onions are then left to ferment for a few days before they are ready to be eaten.
Serving[edit | edit source]
Pa-kimchi is typically served as a side dish with meals. It can also be used as an ingredient in other dishes, such as kimchi fried rice or kimchi stew.
Health Benefits[edit | edit source]
Like other types of kimchi, Pa-kimchi is rich in probiotics due to the fermentation process. It is also a good source of vitamin C and fiber.
