Pamela Rendi-Wagner (born 7 May 1971) is an Austrian physician and politician. She is a member of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) and has served in various political roles, including as the Minister of Health and Women’s Affairs.

Pamela Rendi-Wagner was born in Vienna, Austria. She studied medicine at the University of Vienna, where she earned her medical degree. She furthered her education with a Master of Science in Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

Medical Career[edit | edit source]

Rendi-Wagner began her career as a physician specializing in infectious diseases. She worked at the Medical University of Vienna and later joined the Austrian Ministry of Health, where she focused on public health and epidemiology.

Minister of Health and Women’s Affairs[edit | edit source]

In 2017, Rendi-Wagner was appointed as the Minister of Health and Women’s Affairs in the government of Chancellor Christian Kern. During her tenure, she focused on healthcare reform, women's health issues, and public health policies.

Leader of the Social Democratic Party[edit | edit source]

In November 2018, Rendi-Wagner was elected as the leader of the Social Democratic Party of Austria, becoming the first woman to hold this position. She led the party through the 2019 Austrian legislative election.

Pamela Rendi-Wagner is married and has two children. She is known for her commitment to public health and social justice.
