Paul Bragg was born in 1895 in Virginia. He was raised in a farming community where he developed an early interest in health and nutrition. He studied at the American School of Naturopathy and later at the University of California, Berkeley.

Bragg began his career as a health advocate in the early 20th century. He was one of the first to introduce the idea of health food stores and he opened the first one in 1912 in Los Angeles. He also started the Bragg Live Foods company, which produces organic food products.

Bragg was a prolific author and wrote numerous books on health and wellness. His most famous book, "The Miracle of Fasting," has been translated into several languages and continues to be a best-seller.

Bragg's health philosophy was based on the idea that the body has the ability to heal itself through proper nutrition and exercise. Bragg's influence on the health and wellness industry is still felt today. His teachings have inspired many, including fitness guru Jack LaLanne and Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. The Bragg Live Foods company, now run by his daughter Patricia Bragg, continues to produce organic food products and promote a healthy lifestyle.
