Paulina Luisi

Paulina Luisi (1875-1950) was a prominent Uruguayan feminist, educator, and physician. She was a trailblazer in advocating for women's rights in Uruguay and played a pivotal role in the fight for women's suffrage in the country. Luisi was the first woman in Uruguay to earn a medical degree, breaking significant gender barriers in the field of medicine and academia. Born in Argentina to Italian immigrants, Luisi moved to Uruguay at a young age.
