Pepper Lunch
Introduction[edit | edit source]
Pepper Lunch is a popular "fast-steak" restaurant franchise that originated in Japan. The unique concept of serving steaks on hot metal plates for customers to cook to their liking has gained widespread popularity, leading to the establishment of numerous branches worldwide.
History[edit | edit source]
Pepper Lunch was founded by chef and inventor Kunio Ichinose in 1994. Ichinose wanted to serve quality, fast food without the need for a skilled chef. He developed a method of cooking thin slices of beef on a hot plate, which is now the signature dish of Pepper Lunch.
Concept[edit | edit source]
The main concept of Pepper Lunch is the "DIY" cooking process. The meals are served on a patented electromagnetic cooker that heats up to 260 degrees Celsius in under one minute. This allows the meat to continue cooking while the customer eats, ensuring that every bite is hot and fresh.
Menu[edit | edit source]
The Pepper Lunch menu primarily consists of beef, chicken, and salmon dishes. The most popular dish is the Beef Pepper Rice, which is served with rice, corn, and thinly sliced beef. Other notable dishes include the Shimofuri Pepper Steak and the Salmon Pepper Rice.
Expansion[edit | edit source]
Since its inception, Pepper Lunch has expanded to over 200 locations in Japan and has established franchises in other countries such as Australia, Canada, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United States.
Reception[edit | edit source]
Pepper Lunch has been well-received for its unique concept and quality food. It has been praised for its innovative approach to fast food and has gained a loyal following of customers who enjoy the interactive dining experience.
