The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is a professional basketball league in the Philippines. Founded in 1975, it is the first professional basketball league in Asia and the second oldest continuously existing in the world after the NBA.

The PBA was established on April 9, 1975, with the merger of the Manila Industrial and Commercial Athletic Association (MICAA) and the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP). The league's inaugural game was held at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
