Philippine Red Cross
Philippine Red Cross (PRC) is a volunteer-based, humanitarian organization in the Philippines that was established to provide emergency assistance, disaster relief, and education inside the country. It is a member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, adhering to the principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.

The Philippine Red Cross was officially established in 1947, following the independence of the Philippines. However, its roots can be traced back to 1899, during the Philippine-American War, when a provisional Red Cross committee was established. It was recognized as a National Red Cross Society by the International Committee of the Red Cross on 22 March 1947, and it became a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies the same year.
