Pieminister
Pieminister is a British pie manufacturer and restaurant chain, founded in 2003 by Tristan Hogg and Jon Simon. The company is headquartered in Bristol, England, and operates several restaurants across the United Kingdom. Pieminister is known for its high-quality, ethically sourced ingredients and innovative pie flavours.
History[edit | edit source]
Tristan Hogg and Jon Simon founded Pieminister in 2003. The pair were inspired by their travels around the world, particularly their experiences with diverse food cultures. They decided to bring their culinary experiences back to the UK, focusing on the traditional British pie but with a global twist.
Products[edit | edit source]
Pieminister offers a wide range of pies, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Some of their most popular pies include the 'Moo' (British beef steak and craft ale), 'Heidi' (Somerset goat's cheese, sweet potato, spinach & red onion), and 'Kevin' (mushroom, tomato & red wine with baby onions & thyme).
In addition to pies, Pieminister also offers sides such as mashed potatoes, minty mushy peas, and gravy. They also have a selection of craft beers and ciders, carefully selected to complement their pies.
Ethical sourcing[edit | edit source]
Pieminister is committed to ethical sourcing and sustainability. They use only free-range British meat and ensure all their fish is MSC certified. Their vegetarian pies are approved by the Vegetarian Society, and their vegan pies are registered with The Vegan Society.
Restaurants[edit | edit source]
Pieminister operates several restaurants across the UK, including in Bristol, London, Manchester, and Leeds. These restaurants offer a relaxed, casual dining experience with a focus on high-quality, ethically sourced food.
Awards[edit | edit source]
Pieminister has won numerous awards for their pies, including Great Taste Awards and British Pie Awards. They have also been recognized for their commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing.
