Pittyvaich distillery
Pittyvaich distillery was a producer of Scotch whisky that operated between 1974 and 1993 in Dufftown, Scotland. The distillery was built by Arthur Bell & Sons to produce malt whisky for their popular range of blended whiskies.

The Pittyvaich distillery was established in 1974 by Arthur Bell & Sons, a company known for its production of blended whiskies. The distillery was built to supplement the production of malt whisky for their blends. The distillery was located in Dufftown, a town in the Speyside whisky region of Scotland, known for its high concentration of whisky distilleries.
Despite its relatively short operational period, the distillery produced a number of notable whiskies. However, due to various factors including economic conditions and changes in the whisky industry, the distillery was closed in 1993 and subsequently demolished in 2002.
Production[edit | edit source]
The Pittyvaich distillery was equipped with two stills and had a production capacity of approximately 2 million litres of whisky per year. The whisky produced at Pittyvaich was primarily used in the production of Bell's blended whiskies. However, a small amount of single malt whisky was also released, most notably the Pittyvaich 12 Year Old and the Pittyvaich 20 Year Old.
Legacy[edit | edit source]
Despite its closure, the Pittyvaich distillery has left a lasting legacy in the whisky industry. Bottles of Pittyvaich whisky are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts, and the distillery's whiskies are known for their unique character and quality. In recent years, several independent bottlers have released limited editions of Pittyvaich whisky, further contributing to the distillery's legacy.
