In 1977, Pizza Hut was acquired by PepsiCo, which also owned other food and beverage brands such as Pepsi, Frito-Lay, and Taco Bell. In 1997, Pizza Hut became a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, which also owns KFC and Taco Bell.
