Prorenoic acid

Prorenoic acid is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of organic compounds known as fatty acids and conjugates. These are lipid molecules composed of a carboxylic acid moiety and a hydrocarbon chain.

Prorenoic acid is a monocarboxylic acid that consists of a pentadecanoic acid bearing three double bonds at positions 6, 9 and 12. It has a role as a human metabolite and a mouse metabolite. It is a conjugated fatty acid, a long-chain fatty acid and a monocarboxylic acid. It derives from a hydride of a pentadecane.

In the human body, prorenoic acid is involved in a number of biochemical reactions. As a metabolite, it plays a role in various metabolic pathways, including lipid metabolism and fatty acid metabolism.
