Pulp (fruit)

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Pulp is the juicy, fleshy part of a fruit that surrounds the seeds or pit. Pulp can be found in a wide variety of fruits such as oranges, lemons, limes, and berries. It is rich in vitamins and minerals and is a good source of dietary fiber. Pulp can be eaten as is, or used to make juice, jams, and other food products. Some fruits such as papaya, mango and guava are commonly consumed with the pulp, but in other fruits such as oranges, lemons and limes, it is often discarded.
