Queens Community Board 4
Queens Community Board 4 (often abbreviated as QCB4) is a local government body in the New York City borough of Queens. It is one of 59 such Community Boards in the city, and one of 14 in Queens. The board's responsibilities include advising on land use and zoning, participating in the city budget process, and addressing community concerns.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Queens Community Board 4 encompasses the neighborhoods of Elmhurst and Corona. The board's boundaries are Roosevelt Avenue to the north, the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway to the west, the Long Island Expressway to the south, and Flushing Meadows-Corona Park to the east.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
The board's area is home to a diverse population, with a significant number of residents of Hispanic, Asian, and African American descent. The area is known for its vibrant immigrant communities and is one of the most densely populated areas in Queens.
Governance[edit | edit source]
The board is composed of up to 50 volunteer members appointed by the Queens Borough President, half of whom are nominated by the City Council members who represent the board area. The board meets monthly, and meetings are open to the public.
Responsibilities[edit | edit source]
The board's responsibilities include reviewing land use and zoning matters, assessing the needs of the community, and making recommendations on the city's budget. The board also plays a role in reviewing the site selection for city facilities and participates in the decision-making process on issues such as traffic and transportation, economic development, and the city's capital and expense budget.

The board encourages community involvement through public meetings and hearings. It also works closely with city agencies to address community concerns and issues.
