Queimada is a traditional alcoholic beverage from Galicia, Spain. It is made by burning a mixture of Orujo, Sugar, Lemon peel, and Coffee beans in a clay pot.

Queimada has its roots in the ancient Celtic rituals of Galicia. The drink was traditionally prepared in a ritual known as 'conxuro da queimada', which was believed to ward off evil spirits.

Preparation[edit | edit source]

The preparation of Queimada involves the following steps:

  1. Pour Orujo into a clay pot.
  2. Add Sugar, Lemon peel, and Coffee beans.
  3. Set the mixture on fire and let it burn for a few minutes.
  4. Stir the mixture until the flames die out.
  5. Serve the Queimada hot.
