Rachel Allen was born in Dublin, Ireland. She developed a passion for cooking at a young age, which led her to pursue a career in the culinary arts. Allen attended the world-famous Ballymaloe Cookery School, located in County Cork, Ireland. She trained under the guidance of Darina Allen, who later became her mother-in-law.

After graduating from the Ballymaloe Cookery School, Rachel Allen began her career as a chef at the Ballymaloe House, a renowned hotel and restaurant in Ireland. She later transitioned into teaching at the cookery school, where she continues to inspire and educate aspiring chefs.
Allen's television career began when she was offered a show on the RTE network. Her first show, Rachel's Favourite Food, was a success and led to several other series, including Rachel's Favourite Food for Living, Rachel's Food for Living, and Rachel Allen: Bake!.

Rachel Allen is married to Isaac Allen, the son of Darina Allen. They have three children together and live in County Cork, Ireland.
