Radial

From WikiMD's WELLNESSPEDIA

Radial refers to the radial bone in the forearm or the radial artery. It can also refer to a radial pattern or configuration.

Radial Bone[edit]

The Radial bone is one of the two large bones of the forearm, the other being the ulna. It extends from the lateral side of the elbow to the thumb side of the wrist and runs parallel to the ulna. The radial bone is responsible for the majority of the forearm's rotation, allowing the hand to turn palm up (supination) and palm down (pronation).

Radial Artery[edit]

The Radial artery is a major artery in the human forearm. It is close to the surface of the underside of the forearm; when the palm is facing upwards, the radial artery is close to the thumb and forms part of the pulse. The radial artery supplies the hand and forearm with oxygenated blood.

Radial Pattern[edit]

A Radial pattern or configuration refers to a pattern that extends outwards from the center. It is commonly seen in nature, architecture, and design.

Radial Tires[edit]

Radial tires are a type of automotive tire design in which the cord plies are arranged at 90 degrees to the direction of travel, or radially.
