Ramsay Hunt syndrome type 3
Ramsay Hunt syndrome type 3, also known as herpes zoster oticus, is a rare complication of shingles that affects the ear and facial nerve. It is characterized by severe ear pain, hearing loss, and facial weakness or paralysis. Treatment typically includes antiviral medication, corticosteroids, and physical therapy. In some cases, surgery may be necessary to repair damage to the facial nerve.
