Ratched is an American psychological thriller television series created by Evan Romansky and developed by Ryan Murphy. The series is a prequel to the 1962 novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey. It stars Sarah Paulson as the titular character, Nurse Ratched, a character who was originally portrayed by Louise Fletcher in the 1975 film adaptation of the novel.
Plot[edit | edit source]
The series follows Nurse Ratched in 1947 as she begins working at a leading psychiatric hospital in Northern California. The story explores her journey from a seemingly dedicated nurse to a full-fledged monster as she manipulates and exploits the mental health care system and the patients within it.
