Rax Roast Beef[edit | edit source]

Rax Roast Beef is a fast food restaurant chain that specializes in serving roast beef sandwiches. The chain was established in 1967 in Springfield, Ohio, and has since expanded to various locations across the United States.

History[edit | edit source]

Rax Roast Beef was founded by Jack Roschman in 1967. The first restaurant was opened in Springfield, Ohio, and was initially named "JAX Roast Beef". The name was later changed to "RAX" to avoid confusion with the already established Jack in the Box restaurant chain.

Menu[edit | edit source]

The menu at Rax Roast Beef primarily consists of roast beef sandwiches, but also includes other items such as chicken sandwiches, salads, baked potatoes, and desserts. The restaurant is particularly known for its signature roast beef sandwiches, which are made with slow-roasted beef that is thinly sliced and served on a toasted bun.

Locations[edit | edit source]

Over the years, Rax Roast Beef has expanded to various locations across the United States. At its peak in the 1980s, the chain had over 500 restaurants. However, due to various factors including increased competition and financial difficulties, the number of Rax Roast Beef restaurants has significantly decreased. As of 2021, there are only a handful of Rax Roast Beef restaurants still in operation.
