Ray L. Watts is an American neurologist and the current president of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He has made significant contributions to the field of neurology and has held various academic and administrative positions throughout his career.

In 2003, Watts joined the University of Alabama at Birmingham as the Chair of the Department of Neurology. He was later appointed as the Senior Vice President and Dean of the UAB School of Medicine. In 2013, he was named the President of UAB, a position he currently holds.
