Reno Bertoia

Reno Bertoia (January 8, 1935 – February 19, 2011) was a professional baseball player born in Italy. He played as a third baseman in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers, Washington Senators, and Kansas City Athletics during the 1950s and 1960s.

Bertoia was born in Italy and later moved to Canada with his family. He began his baseball career in the minor leagues before being called up to the major leagues.

Career[edit | edit source]

Bertoia made his MLB debut with the Detroit Tigers in 1953. He played with the Tigers until 1961, showcasing his defensive skills at third base. In 1962, he was traded to the Washington Senators where he continued to excel as a reliable infielder. Bertoia later played for the Kansas City Athletics before retiring from professional baseball.
