History[edit | edit source]
Rodney Scott founded Rodney Scott's BBQ in 2017, following the success of his family's barbecue business, Scott's Variety Store, in Hemingway, South Carolina. Scott's Variety Store was known for its whole hog barbecue, a tradition that Rodney Scott has continued in his own restaurant.
Cooking Style[edit | edit source]
Rodney Scott's BBQ is known for its whole hog barbecue, a cooking style that involves slow-cooking a whole pig over a wood fire. The meat is then pulled and mixed with a vinegar-based barbecue sauce. This style of barbecue is characteristic of the Pee Dee region of South Carolina, where Rodney Scott grew up.

Locations[edit | edit source]
In addition to its original location in Charleston, Rodney Scott's BBQ has expanded to include locations in Birmingham, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia.
