Rolla is a city located in the state of Missouri, United States. It is the county seat of Phelps County and is situated in the Ozark Mountains region. With a population of approximately 20,000 residents, Rolla is known for its rich history, educational institutions, and natural beauty.

Rolla was founded in 1858 as a result of the construction of the Southwestern Branch of the Pacific Railroad. The city was named after a railroad engineer, Edmund Ward Rolla.
