Romesh Ranganathan (born 27 March 1978) is a British stand-up comedian, actor, and presenter. He is known for his deadpan and often self-deprecating comedy style. Ranganathan has appeared on numerous television shows and has established himself as a prominent figure in the British comedy scene.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Romesh Ranganathan was born in Crawley, West Sussex, England. He is of Sri Lankan Tamil descent. Before embarking on a career in comedy, Ranganathan worked as a mathematics teacher at Hazelwick School in Crawley and The Beacon School in Banstead, Surrey.

Ranganathan began his comedy career in 2010, performing at various comedy clubs and festivals. He quickly gained recognition for his unique comedic style and was a finalist in the 2013 Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
