Ryes
Ryes is a commune in the Calvados department in the Normandy region of northwestern France. It is situated in the Bayeux arrondissement and is part of the Bayeux Intercom community of communes.

Ryes is located approximately 10 kilometers northwest of Bayeux and about 5 kilometers from the English Channel. The commune is characterized by its rural landscape, with agricultural fields and small forests. The Seulles River flows near the commune, contributing to the fertile land in the region.

The history of Ryes dates back to the Middle Ages. The commune has several historical landmarks, including the Church of Saint-Germain, which dates back to the 12th century. The church is known for its Romanesque architecture and historical significance.
